The album Greatest Hits is about to go out very soon, so that's the reason why Dido's team is publishing some comentaries or audio interviews about each of the songs in the album. The first round goes for Here With Me, here's the audio and a transcription of what Dido says:
So I wrote Here with me back in, like in 1996/1997 and it was actually the song that got me singned, cause my brother heard it and took it into his record company and played to everyone and said "well, we need sign someone that sounds like this" and everyone look at him like "what? are you going to sign your younger sister?" and actually the idea crossed his mind and he was like "Oh, ok" so that was their conversation and they signed me.Así que escribí Here with me en 1996 o 1997 y en realidad fue la canción que hizo que me contrataran, porque mi hermano la escuchó y la llevó a su compañía discográfica y se la puso a todo el mundo y dijo "bien, necesitamos contratar a alguien que suene como esto" y todo el mundo le miro como "¿qué? ¿vas a contratar a tu hermana pequeña?" y en realidad la idea cruzó su mente y fue como "Oh, de acuerdo", así que esa fue su conversación y ellos me contrataron.
